Brighter Tomorrow has become aware, as many of you, about a cat killer. According to the news article the individual may escalate to vulnerable women and girls.
As a part of Brighter Tomorrow’s social campaign, animal abuse register, Brighter Tomorrow questions if the UK had implemented an animal abuse register with longer prison sentences if this crime would occur and if it did, if it would have been stopped sooner. Also, Brighter Tomorrow further questions the practicality of rehabilitation and question if more information was available sooner would it have stopped the killer.
It is time for politicians and the courts to end the denial about the link between animal abuse and violent crimes. Rehabilitation with light sentences are not the answer. A register with longer sentences is the solution.
Brighter Tomorrow calls on the Conservatives Party and Labour to work together in delivering an animal abuse register that protects our pets along with protecting us. Other countries like the United States and Switzerland have tougher animal abuse laws. It is time for the United Kingdom to get serious and to stop its lackadaxical approach to animal cruetly.

The above table is based on the quantity of each type of each item being purchased and not the total number of items in your cart.

One of the regrets of my life is never having children and the reason for me not having children, I was abused by mental health professionals. They told me I would be a bad mother and as a result, I underwent tubal ligation. Thereby ending any chance of having children.
When I returned to my country, I explored IVF only to be rejected. I had thought about fighting the decision but in the end chose not to fight it. I also explored having the tubal ligation reversed. However, I was advised if I did then I will need to have additional microsurgery to remove any scarring and the scarring from the procedure might be too much for me to get pregnant. Then a few years ago, I had elevated levels suggesting I might have ovarian cancer and I underwent a hysterectomy, which finally ended any hope of having a child.
After having the procedure and coming to terms with my past, I began looking at adoption. As I began looking into adoption, I was shocked that members of the child’s birth family may still be in contact and the amount of screening you are subjected to before you are approved. Worst yet, when I speak with agencies that ask about pets. I am advised that I may need to get rid of my pets because the child may be allergic, may not like the pet, or if the pet is aggressive towards the child then the pet will be removed.
It is the latter issue I want to speak about now. If the agency is to be working in the best interest of the child and the child had allergies to pets then why place them with a family that loves pets? I would suspect, a family that had to give up their beloved dog or cat for a child might feel some animosity. Likewise, if the child had allergies to pets and was placed in a home where pet hair will remain, even after cleaning, is that family the best placement. How come the agency cannot provide an allergist to help the child cope with their pet allergies? Instead of requiring the family to give up their pet?
The trouble I have with the questioning about pets is, why do adoption agencies see pets as disposable? How come adoption agencies expect the pet to be removed instead of trying to find a workable solution? What about the pet and its care? What responsibility does the adoption agency has to that pet and to the family? Would that child be better placed elsewhere?
My questions may sound callous and heartless; however, there is a point. The point I am trying to make, pets are a part of the family and the family pet becomes a focal point of the identity of that family. If the family has to remove the pet because of adoption then the family loses a part of their identity. Likewise, the pet loses a caring and loving home that cares for it. The pet is put into the system that tries to find it another home. For some families losing their pet can be upsetting and troubling. I find, asking a family to remove a pet for adoption without providing support for the pet and support for the family, is callous. Is the adoption agency truly acting in the best interest of the child by finding them the best possible family or is the agency trying to unburden themselves?
For me, my pets are a part of my family identity and I could not give them up. Instead, I expect the adoption agency to work with me in finding a child that is compatible with my home life and provide the support necessary to make it the best situation for all (including pets). By working with my lifestyle and understanding my needs, I believe an adoption agency is truly working in the best interest of the child to ensure the best possible outcome for all involved.
In conclusion, trying to start the adoption process in the United Kingdom leaves me sad. I believe, it is probably in my husband’s best interest and mine to look outside of the United Kingdom to adopt. Unfortunately the cost to adopt abroad will most mean I will never be able to afford to adopt and also, it will mean a child in need of a loving home in the United Kingdom will either have to wait longer or never find it because of the bureaucracy of the process. Whilst I understand the term “in the best interest of the child,” I have to question if adoption agencies are truly acting in the best interest of the child or finding reasons to deny loving homes to children?
How To Use Color To Make An Exquisite Jiggly Slime?
At its core, jiggly slime is nothing more than glue, water, and borax. There is nothing complicated and anyone can mix the three ingredients to produce a marvelous wobbly gelatin like product. The challenge lies in bringing the slime to life and making your slime something others want?
The answer is simple, add color. Adding color is an extension of your personality. It can express your mood, something about you, and it can express something about your product. If you are selling slime then picking the right color and more importantly the right hue is very important.
To demonstrate the above let us take a look at an example, pink. Not to sound sexist, the color pink tends to associated with feminity and it tends to be a color associated with being a girl. From another perspective, color psychology, pink is seen as being calming and vulnerability. At Brighter Tomorrow we offer a few pink slimes but find one tends to be the most popular hue of pink, can you guess which one?
Recently I have been asked to support a petition calling for the banning for Kosher and Halal slaughter in the UK that is found on a petition site. Since I do not want to give the individual free publicity for the petition, I am not listing here and I believe, such a petition very disturbing.
For those who support a ban, I believe, do so with malice in their hearts. I further believe a calling for a such a ban is both anti-Semitic and is Islamaphobic. Such a ban, I believe, it violates: Article 8 and 9 of the Human Rights Act, United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights Articles: 12 and 18 and Equality Act.
Banning Ritual Slaughter Equates to Anti-Semitism
So why do I believe banning Kosher and Hala slaughter is wrong? I will state I am more familiar with Kosher slaughter and Judaism than Islam. So, my statement will be from a Jewish perspective. However, my statement can be equally applied to Halah slaughter and Islam. Next, for this statement, I am not going to digress about the differences between Kosher and Halal slaughter. Plus I am not going into defining anti-Semitism and then going into a fully explanation as to why banning Kosher slaughter is anti-Semitism. Instead, I will state, denying a group of people to practice their religion that is acceptable in other parts of the world is wrong and amounts to anti-Semitism. Furthermore, by calling for such a ban demonstrates ignorance, it demonstrates a complete lack of understanding and it demonstrates hate.
I believe banning Hala and Kosher slaughter at is denying non-Christians their right to practice their religion without interference from the government and it is forcing a religion, Christianity, upon them. This raises another question for me? How come those seeking to ban Kosher and Hala slaughter do not also seek to ban Bali and Jhatka religious slaughter too? To be fully compliant with the Equality Act, I believe, the petition should call for the ban of all religious slaughter. The answer is simple, it is not about banning all religious slaughter but something much more troubling. Any special interest or political party that pushes for a ban, I believe, does so from an anti-Semitic perspective. Why do I believe this?
If There is No Anti-Semitism Then How Come the Petition Does Not Call for a Ban on All Animal Slaughter?
Let me ask the question if there is no anti-Semitism then why push for banning Kosher instead of pushing for an outright ban on slaughtering of all animals? Especially when Kosher slaughter has very strict rules for the slaughter that protects the animal for it to be considered Kosher and Kosher slaughter is more humane than non-Kosher slaughter? If the petition is about really about animal rights and protecting the animal then why single out Jews and Muslims?
I do not believe any petition calling for the banning of Kosher of Hala slaughter is about animal welfare. Instead, pushing for such a ban is very reminiscent of 1290 Britain under the Edict of Expulsion from Edward 1, reminiscent of America under Jim Crow laws, and the Holocaust under Nazi Germany.
Ban Denies Basic Human Rights by Creating a “Separate But Equal” Society
Simply put, pushing for a ban denies a group of people their human rights and creates a “separate but equal,” segregated society. Denying a group of people their right to religious slaughter meat when other Western nations still protect their right is regressive. It creates a segregated society where some can practice their religion while others are denied their right to freely practice their religion. Furthermore, it promotes state sponsored Christianity at the cost of religious freedom for all and takes away some freedom.
AAR Campaign is about Uniting Not Dividing
My campaign, AAR – Justice for Chunky, is about making Britain safer and it is about uniting this country. It is not dividing the country along geographical, religious, or political ideological lines. Instead, I seek to unite people, respect their rights, and bring about a solution that works for all. I believe banning Kosher slaughter is anti-Semitc and denies a group of people their right to freely practice their relition in the country when other countries allow Kosher religious slaughter.
Finally, I want to remind the Green Party that a part of my condition for working with them was the animal abuse register will not be used to ban religious slaughter. It is my hope the Green Party continues to respect my wish and it is not behind any of the petitions I am seeing.
One of the questions I am regularly asked by my British work colleagues is what can they do in the United States that is different. Meaning that it is not the typical theme park holiday offered by many of the holidaymakers. My typical reply is to ask what do they want to see or learn? I explain to them the east coast, excluding Maine and excluding Florida, is rich in American history from colonial days through to the Civil War. However if early American history is not there preference then I provide a few more suggestions.
1) Take The Train Across America:
Time required:Depending on where you start and end your journey plan for 3 – 4 days one way.
Cost:Varies by time of year and accommodations booked. If you do not book private accommodations on the train cost can be relatively inexpensive.
Airports:Chicago O’Hare (recommended)
Tips:There is something nostalgic about seeing America via train. It gives you a chance to see America like many do not. You will see large metropolitan cities, rural America, mountains, and dessert too. If done at the right time of the year, you will also experience a cross-section of very different weather. For example, you might experience a thunderstorm while traveling through the plains and a snow storm as you go through the mountains. This type of trip gives you an insight that many do not get.
With the changes to transport and air-travel being popular are no trains that travel east to west coast. Most passenger trains travel through Chicago and most likely If you are doing coast to coast then you will have to change trains here.
My advice, if you are looking to travel cross country via train the ideal starting location is Chicago. This will save you money and cut a day off your journey.
2) Traveling America By Car
Time Required:Depends on route but plan on 5 days
Cost:Varies. Cost will depend on car, route, time of year, attractions, and hotels.
Airports: Any major international airport on the east or west coast
Tips:America always has had extreme weather. If this is something you are considering, then it is best to consider September – early December or March – May for this type of trip.
Also, get yourself updated on American traffic rules as they vary by states. Some rural states like South Dakota will allow 80 mph on the interstate whereas highways in metropolitan areas may only allow 55 mph. This means speed limits will greatly impact your journey time.
Finally, research and plan your journey to get the most from it. For example, states will have fairs during the summer. Admission tends to be quite low and can provide a cheap family day out. However dates and prices varies.
3) Visit the Northeast In The Fall
Time Required:2 – 3 days.
Cost:Depends on travel plans. This can be done very inexpensively by renting a car and traveling through Vermont and New Hampshire. Plus, there are tours that will take you through the area.
Location:Vermont, New Hampshire
When:Varies, though September through early November tends to be the best times.
Airports:New York & Boston
Tips:Fall foliage depends on rain and temperatures. If the year has been a wet year, the colours will last and will be intense. It is a sight to see.
Because the northeast is very rural and it is not possible to fly direct. You will have to fly into either New York or Boston then plan your journey from there.
Time Required:1 – 3 days
Cost: Varies with location and event. However, this can quickly become a very expensive holiday because of flights, accommodations, and car rentals during peak demand.
Locations: Western South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Montana
When:Depends on first snow that stays and varies by altitude. Most likely November – February
Airports: Sioux Falls, Denver, Salt Lake City, Billings
Tips:America is a winter playground that offers many options from cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowmobiling. However, access to many of these areas will require driving during winter and driving in very rural areas. This will you will need to be comfortable driving in winter weather that can change very quickly and comfortable driving in very icy conditions.
5) Explore a Large City
Time Required: 1 week
Cost:Varies with hotel, activities, and time of year
Locations:Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco
When:Ideally May – September.
Tips:If you research the city and its offerings during your visit you will find large cities offer something for everyone and it is difficult to experience it all. During the summer is the best time to explore because there are many activities occurring and it will give you the most choice. However, traveling during off-peak times prices tend to be lower.

In Britain it is estimated approximately 50% of households have a pet. However, those in the rental section, see a pet as mere property. Whereby a pet is something that can be disposed when the situation requires it. Even though the tenant may have given proper notice of having a pet to the landlord. The landlord may use the pet as the excuse for not being able to re-home family when re-homing is required in an effort to avoid their obligation to the family. Sadly, the landlord does not realise the emotional bond that is formed and ignores the benefits a pet provides. The benefits a pet provides is very much the same benefits belonging to family provides. Time has come for a change to view pets as members of the family and a family must be re-home then the focus must be Keeping Families Together.
A Pet Is Not Property But A Member Of The Family
Keeping Families Together means, a pet is not a mere piece of property but a member of the family. A pet adds meaning to our lives, keep us healthy, and most of all they do not judge us. By having a pet, adds years to life and keeps us emotionally healthy. Our world will be worse without having a pet.
Keeping Families Together Means Less Abandoned Pets
Splitting a family a part, especially when it is not the family’s fault, is unfair. It causes them unnecessary emotional grief and compounds any grief they may be experiencing. Furthermore it means the family has a tough choice, during a time of undue emotional stress, to be re-homed or keep a member of their family. No one should have to face splitting their family in order to have housing.
Time For Legislative Reform
Time has come for legislative reform to strengthen the laws regarding families with pets. Families, who have given proper notice of having pet should not face making a tough decision of splitting their family. Instead landlords, public and private, must be forced to re-home families with pets or face legal penalties for non-compliance.
Please sign our petition calling for legislative reform so no family has to split-up through no fault of their own. With your support, Brighter Tomorrow can make a brighter tomorrow for those who rent and have a pet.
Can You Really Make a Meal by Only Making a Tossed Salad?
Have you ever wished there was a quick an inexpensive meal that everyone can enjoy? That was filling and pushes your creative side? Since moving to the UK I find making a salad for a meal is not very common. Every time I go out to eat there are no salad options. I suspect this is more of an American thing. So what is a tossed salad and how is it made:
If you are looking for a taco salad when cooking the mince add a package of taco seasoning to it. Also add olives and some crushed tortilla chips
For a bit more oriental variation instead of lemon juice add soy sauce. Also add pea pods, water chest nuts, bean sprouts, and cooked rice noodles.
If you are using lemon juice this can be stored and covered 1 – 2 days in a refrigerator. Protect from moisture accumulation as this will cause the salad to rot very quickly. Ideally store is a large self-sealing bag like Ziploc or a bowl with a lid. However if you are adding tomatoes you may find after a day of storage cut, they may become a bit soggy.

The great thing about making an omelette it is quick and easy. It does not require a lot time and it does not require a lot of money. Best part is the ability to be creative.
Making an omelette is easy enough to teach a child to make. Cooking unifies science; mathematics; nutrition; culture; history; and creativity into one experience. This means, cooking is a great way to teach children without them know they are being taught and it can also be a way to teach a child about their culture. Finally for the parent, the grandparent, and child it can create a memory that all of you will remember.
Making the Incredible Ultimate Omelette
1. Assemble Ingredients & Prepare
Determine what you want to put into the Omelette.
Adding too many fillings may mean the omelette will not properly cook, leading to an under cooked centre and an over-cooded egg. As you assemble and cut the ingredients, place an omelette pan (medium size) on to a burner and turn the burner to medium heat to preheat. Preheating allows the pan to heat thereby helping to prevent sticking but remember no to leave the pan unattended. Also remember to keep small children away to prevent burns. If pan begins to smoke then turn down heat.
For this example I am using red pepper, cheese slice, and pre-cooked bacon, and an onions. However, whatever you want to add is up to you.
2. Chop Ingredients
Next cut ingredients in bite size pieces. Be creative in how you cut the filling but remember too thick or too large may mean it does not cook properly.
Cutting onions, it is best to cut the top off then make lengthwise cuts through the onion without cutting all of the way through it.
If you have any cheese take this time to shred it. Likewise if you need to warm up any meats then do it now. Finally crack your eggs into a small bowl, mix eggs thoroughly, and place the egg mixture to one side.
Water, Cream, or Milk to Mix with the Eggs?
For the best results, I find not adding cream, milk, or water is better. Milk can make the omelette brown to quick because of the milk sugar in it. Water can require more time for the omelette because of the excess water in the eggs and toppings. Cream, I have never liked in eggs and do not recommend it.
3. Cook Vegetables on Medium
By now your pan should be warm. Add a little oil, a little bit of margarine (optional), and a dash of salt (optional). Be very conservative in your use. A little oil will help prevent sticking but too much will make the omelette greasy.
Cooking Oil Suggestion
I prefer adding the oil right before adding the vegetables. Since it will keep the oil from smoking and it provides better results. Furthermore, I recommend vegetable oil. Whilst olive oil or sunflower oil might appear to be a healthier option, vegetable oil will tolerate heat. I find olive oil breaks down very quickly when used for cooking and likewise, sunflower has the same issue. This is because both olive oil and sunflower oil have a lower flash point, point at which it will begin to smoke. Thereby requiring a bit more attention to ensure heat does not destroy it and it does not cause a fire. Next add any vegetables. Vegetables are fiborous and require additional cooking time before adding the egg. Cook the vegetables until they begin to become tender. They should be soft but not cooked all of the way through and they should not brown. If they begin browning turn down the heat.
4. Add Egg
Once vegetables become tender add your egg, any cheese, and any precooked meats. Make sure the egg covers the entire pan. Let egg settle. Depending on ingredients, amount of ingredients, and other factors this can take several minutes.
5. Fold Egg
Wait under egg settles. Settled egg is easily identified by a distinct solid edge. However an egg is not ready to be folded until it generally appears solid instead of liquid. There can be some liquid especially around the centre. Be aware, if you fold too soon the egg will stick and the omelette will fall apart and if you wait too long the egg may overcook. Once folded let egg cook a bit further until any liquid disappears. Now, flip the egg over for about 30 seconds to 1 minute to heat the other side.
6. Remove and top
Turn off burner and remove egg from pan. Top with any toppings you want and enjoy.

What is slime? Slime is an inexpensive polymer that stretches and returns to its natural shape. It acts very much acts and feels like putty from yesteryear. Whilst the texture of slime may be similar to putty, it is a bit different than putty. It has a spongy and slightly sticky texture. When holding slime it may feel a bit cool to the touch and if thrown it will not bounce back like putty.
From my own experience, I describe slime being like gelatin. It has a semi-solid feel and it can feel cool to the touch. Unlike both gelatin and putty, slime can be revived thereby extending its life.
It can stay fresh with a bit of water and baby oil. Thereby lasting and providing more hours of enjoyment.
